It’s 11:30PMish Wednesday night and I’ve just gotten home from a Sister Kisser®™©™ rehearsal. I’ve been up since 5:00AMish and I’m
EXHAUSTED, both mentally and physically. SK®™©™ has a show coming up next Friday night and, due to all of our crazy schedules, this is the first time the band has all gotten together at the studio in over a month. We’ve all been working on new material and have even started recording for our next CD. Rehearsals are always a blast as we’re always cracking each other up. In fact it’s usually not a bona fide SK®™©™ rehearsal until I’m practically on the floor laughing with tears streaming from my eyes.
For some reason, after getting home from the studio, no matter how tired I am, I am always wired and have a hard time falling asleep. Tonight is no exception. As I’m typing this I’m enjoying a big fat Ketel One®™©™ martini and smoking a tasty American Spirit®™©™ cigarette.
As usual it’s been another crazy week. I had originally anticipated that Company, Inc., would by now, be officially closed. I thought I would’ve been officially laid off this past Friday. Early on, when we first learned that Company, Inc. was going out of business, I had promised Boss Man Ray I would stay on for as long as it took to close us down properly. Company, Inc. still needs me to help liquidate equipment and inventory, deal with our clients and customers and, basically, tie up a lot of loose ends.
A few things have been pushed back and it looks as if
we I still have a few more days, if not weeks left here. It’s obnoxious really. Priorities seem to change daily and I’ve been multitasking responsibilities with both Boss Man Ray and his son Creative Director Cliff according to what needs to be done when it needs to be done. It's only a short matter of time now. Tick, Tick, Tick...
On top of everything else, I’ve been spending a lot of time doing freelance work while at Company, Inc. and at home. [I’ve recently gotten some cool and interesting freelance work from a Fan and Reader of DYD who left a few recent comments--but that’s another story].
I
REALLY need to get some sleep.
*sigh*
